Mental health affects everybody...
Mental health is about how we cope with life's stresses and strains. Everybody has days when small things feel overwhelming and they need some help and support. Our mental health is affected by a number of factors, including social, economic, environmental and biological. It is also influenced by our ability to talk about problems and find the right kinds of support.
If you are worried about your own mental health or that of a family member or friend, it is important to get help as quickly as possible. Ignoring problems doesn't make them go away, things may even get worse. The purpose of this website is to make finding the right support easier. It lists over two hundred services, mostly within the Bradford and Airedale district, which may be able to help. Many of the services can be accessed directly, while for others you need a referral from a professional (such as your GP). Where known, this requirement will be stated.
You can search for services by their name (Alphabetical List), a category of the help you need or issue you wish to address e.g. 'Anxiety' (Categorised List) or by a keyword (Search). See the menu on the top left of the screen for different options.
Disclaimer: Inclusion in this directory is not an endorsement or recommendation of any service. Some services or treatments which are beneficial to one person may not be to another. This guide is not intended to be a substitute for the advice of a medical or social care practitioner. If in doubt, please seek advice from your GP or care co-ordinator if you have one.
Whilst every effort has been made to be accurate in compiling information about services, some errors may remain. This is particularly likely when there have been changes to services' details since the site was last updated. If you notice any mistakes or are aware of any changes to services' details, you can notify us via email: wellbeing.guide@bradford.nhs.uk.
